Retro videogames market

Years ago, old video games on obsolete video consoles were a trinket that few people wanted. Today some of these items are authentic rarities that are highly valued and desired by many collectors of the so-called "retro".

From the old Atari 2600 to collector's editions of current game consoles, the videogames collectors market moves real fortunes. Here we will see some curiosities and some valuable products of this hobby.

The most sought-after systems on the market are old consoles ans, above all, videogames that had few sales or only a few remain are still intact.

Nintendo has numerous videogames of a stratospheric value since in the past its products were sold in cardboard boxes. This means that many cartridges are now withoput the box, but few games are still with the box because it is a material that deteriorates quickly or is thrown away as it is mere boxes.

Aniother case is the  NeoGeo. A game console that brought the great video games from the arcade machines to people's homes. Due to its very high starting price ans the few sales that its games had, mixed with the high qualitynof these, it makes this system the most sought after today and its games are the most expensive on the secon hand market.

The big companies, seeing the great pulll that collectors' products produce, have decide to realease limited editions at a high price. This may be the case of the PS4 that released a collector's edition of its console and it reaches a price of up to €3,000. Or Nintendo that releases limited editions of its videogames that cost €150 starting.
